ULTRAVENTURE 5 GTX WIDE

Ultraventure 5 is Topo Athletic's best-selling trail shoe, now in its fifth generation. The GTX model has a GORE-TEX Invisible Fit upper, a waterproof membrane, and a Vibram Megagrip outsole. Midsole and geometry are the same as in Ultraventure 5. The shoe is built for trail running and hiking in wet weather, on routes that mix road, gravel and trail. A neutral shoe without a rock plate, with a gaiter attachment. The Wide model has a wider fit than the standard model, in the toe box, midfoot and heel.

How Ultraventure 5 GTX Wide is built

• ZipFoam midsole, 35/30 mm stack height. Plush cushioning with response, built for many hours on your feet.

• GORE-TEX Invisible Fit upper. Waterproof, breathable membrane laminated directly to the upper, so the fit is the same as in Ultraventure 5.

• Vibram Megagrip outsole. Rubber compound for wet and dry ground, 5 mm lugs. Secure grip on wet rock, roots and gravel.

• Wide fit. More room than the standard model in the toe box, midfoot and heel. Toes can spread. Midfoot and heel stay secure.

• Padded heel collar and tongue. Durable upper with more padding around the ankle.

• Universal gaiter attachment. Hook-and-loop at the heel that fits Topo gaiters, sold separately.

• OrthoLite Performance insole. Soft step-in feel and long service life.

• Weight 255 g in US 7 (EU 38).

The difference from Ultraventure 5

The midsole, the 35/30 mm stack height and the 5 mm drop are the same. The GTX model has a GORE-TEX Invisible Fit upper and a Vibram Megagrip outsole instead of Vibram XS Trek. Weight is 255 g against 247 g in US 7 for the Ultraventure 5 without a membrane.
