Ultraventure 5 GTX
Ultraventure 5 with GORE-TEX Invisible Fit. The same roomy toe box and the same platform, with a membrane that keeps out rain, mud and snow.

Ultraventure 5 GTX is built on Ultraventure 5: the same ZipFoam midsole, 35 mm under the heel and 30 mm under the forefoot, and a 5 mm drop. The difference is the upper. It has GORE-TEX Invisible Fit, a membrane bonded directly to the upper material.
In many waterproof shoes the membrane sits like a sock inside the shoe, known as a bootie. With Invisible Fit, the membrane and the upper become a single layer. According to GORE-TEX, the fit is the same as in a shoe without a membrane, and the toe box is not affected.
“The direct bond of the laminate to the shoe upper is unperceivable, creating the same fit and feel as footwear without weatherproof protection.”

The Topo Difference
Three things all Topo shoes share. Here is how they work in Ultraventure 5 GTX.
ROOMY TOE BOX
A foot-shaped last with room for your toes. The membrane is bonded directly to the upper, and according to GORE-TEX the toe box is not affected.
SECURE FIT THROUGH THE MIDFOOT AND HEEL
Topo's fit holds the midfoot and heel securely. According to GORE-TEX, the fit with Invisible Fit is the same as in a shoe without a membrane.
LOW DROP
The heel sits 5 mm higher than the toes, on 35/30 mm of ZipFoam. The same platform and the same high cushioning as Ultraventure 5.
What do the testers say?
Zachary Russell at Road Trail Run (June 2026) ran and walked through wet grass without getting wet feet. He praises the roomy toe box and the comfortable step-in feel. His feet got warm in summer, and he sees the shoe as a great option for winter. He gave it 9.19 out of 10.
David Salas at Doctors of Running (July 2026) writes that the fit of the upper is similar to that of Ultraventure 5. During testing he was not able to get water into the shoe.
