The inspiration for Ultraventure 2 Turquoise/Gold
Have you ever been curious about how we develop the colors for our shoes? Our Product Manager, Russ Stevens, will take you backstage to explore the inspiration behind the new women's Ultraventure 2 colorway and how they came to life.
Go back to May 2020, it all started with one National Park poster, created by Anderson Design Group.
“The reverence found in nature and the feeling of free movement has always been the inspiration behind the design of our trail shoes. As I was flipping through a book of national park posters, a poster of the North Cascades popped up. To me, the colors evoked the spirit of outdoor adventure, which is exactly what we wanted to capture in the color scheme of the Ultraventure 2,” said Russ.
Russ showed the poster to Topo's shoe designer, Kirk Swanson, who translated the poster into a colorway to be considered in a lineup of other potentials. When it was decided that the turquoise/gold colorway would be used, the color specifications were sent to the factory and from there the colorway came to life as a vibrant and exciting new addition to our best selling trail shoe.
What colors inspire you to get out into the outdoors?
