What is Seskarö Trailrun?
Seskarö Trailrun is northern Sweden's most fun race offering courses for everyone, regardless of experience or age. Have you just started running or never run in the terrain before? Then the 3 km course is perfect to get started with trail running, both for children and youth. For those who want more challenge, there is a 7 km and a 12 km course. Children can choose between 500 m, 1 km, or 2 km. Here at Seskarö, you run on winding, technical trails of various kinds and get the opportunity to experience Seskarö's fantastic forests and wonderful nature. A race and experience for the whole family where the joy of running is the focus.
Who is behind Seskarö Trailrun?
Seskarö Trailrun is organized by the Seskarö Trails association. The association works to develop and maintain the Seskarö Trails outdoor area and wants to make the nature of Seskarö more accessible to many year-round. The association has established and maintains 60 km of summer trails as well as 40 km of ski tracks and several rest areas. The trails are the foundation of Seskarö Trailrun and the fantastic courses during Seskarö Trailrun. The association organizes outdoor events and competitions year-round to create opportunities for memorable nature experiences.
The 2025 race has already taken place, so we are curious about what was the best part of this year's edition?
Seskarö Trailrun 2025 has broken all previous records. We had a total of 740 registered runners, compared to 500 participants in 2024. The number of children and youth has more than doubled to over 200 compared to last year. We have new course records in the 7 km women's class and the 12 km men's class and received very positive feedback about our courses.
What are your vision and goals for the coming year?
We want to develop Seskarö Trailrun into northern Sweden's largest trail race. Next year, we will enhance the experience for the children and aim for a new course route in the terrain for the youngest. Then we also want to include the older ones. We hope more runners from central and southern Sweden will find their way here to experience the fantastic atmosphere on site and the wonderful nature of Seskarö. Finally, we hope to continue our successful collaborations with our sponsors and partners like Topo Athletic. The support from sponsors makes it possible for us to invest, secure the right number of volunteers, and develop the race.
Seskarö Trailrun 2025
Already in January, we had record-high interest in the race and many registered participants like never before. The same goes for the sponsors - just like Topo, many companies, old and new, wanted to support the race, and the prize table was well-stocked with fantastic prizes. Something many participants noticed and were very happy about. With over 700 registered runners, we naturally felt a bit of extra pressure to ensure everything around the race ran smoothly - parking, registration, lunch, etc. Seskarö Trailrun Crew delivered as always and made the race
The weather gods were on our side too, and the promised rainstorm often stayed on the mainland.
