The upper holds the midfoot and heel securely, and the drop is low at 5 mm. The shoe is built for fast and long runs on technical terrain, in training and on race day. The 33/28 mm stack height gives high cushioning and protection underfoot.</p><h3>How MTN Racer 4 is built</h3><ul><li>Foot-shaped last with a roomy toe box. Your toes have room to spread.</li><li>New upper with a snugger fit around the midfoot and heel. Your foot stays put on technical trails.</li><li>ZipFoam midsole with a 33/28 mm stack height. High cushioning and protection from the ground, with a light and responsive feel.</li><li>Vibram Megagrip outsole. Reliable grip and durability on wet and dry trails.</li><li>FKT insole in beaded foam. A responsive feel underfoot, and it lets water out quickly in wet conditions.</li><li>Universal hook-and-loop gaiter attachment at the heel. Fits Topo's Switchback Gaiter, among others, which keeps out grit and debris. The FKT insole in beaded foam is also new. It drains water and adds rebound to your stride. The gaiter attachment is now a universal hook-and-loop design.</p>
